We’re here to support you through your decision about a pregnancy, and talk to you about the options available to you.
If you have had an unexpected positive pregnancy test, you may have mixed feelings about what to do next. If your pregnancy was planned, but sadly after antenatal screening you have been told of a serious feotal anomaly, we can talk you through all the options and will be there for you during this difficult time.

We offer At Home Abortion Pills
In response to the current Covid 19 pandemic, the government has approved the use of telemedicine for abortion care: eligible clients will be able to take both pills for medical abortion up to 28 weeks in their own homes, without attending a clinic.
This means that if you meet safety criteria to allow for medical abortion without a scan, the abortion medications can either be collected by you from a centre or posted to your home address after your consultation.
We want you to feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible when you come for an abortion.
So our team will be there to support you at every stage.
When you book your appointment with us, you'll be given the option of having a consultation over the phone, or face-to-face. During the consultation we will talk you through your abortion care options.

The abortion pill
Medical abortion (or the abortion pill, as it's sometimes called) involves taking two types of medication at different times to end a pregnancy.
At Lira Women's Clinic, medical abortion is available up to 28 weeks + 6 days of pregnancy. For the majority of people who have a medical abortion, it is a very safe procedure. However, not everyone is suitable for a medical abortion, and you may be offered a surgical abortion.
When you leave our clinic, your care does not end.
Recovery time after an abortion will be different for everyone, but you'll usually feel better within a few days.
However, if you feel like you’re experiencing any problems – either physical or emotional – after the treatment, we’re here to help. You can call our aftercare line 24 hours a day and talk to one of our friendly, experienced nurses.
